Jersey Royal Connoisseurs was a two-week residency in Jersey, in collaboration with Carlotta Novella from Public Works, researching the Jersey Royal, including experimental cooking sessions, participatory research and the presentation of a mobile food stand.
The residency examined the history, assimilation and ownership of a vegetable, as well as explored new methods of presentation.
We met Jersey's potato connoisseurs, exchanged stories, preferences and ideas about the Jersey Royal and beyond with a final presentation in the form of a new Jersey street food product and stand.
The project was commissioned by Jersey Heritage and The morning boat, with the support of the Association of Jersey Charities and the Channel Islands Lottery.
