Fairland was invited by Grizedale Arts to translate A Fair Land, which took place at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin throughout 2016, into a programme of events and activities for the people of Coniston, a village in the Lake District of England. Still following the mantra of useful, desirable, achivable, The Coniston Institute was transformed into a space where everyone could make a bowl, a spoon, a pair of slippers, a pickle, a print - all objects based on the seasonal pumpkin glut. The space also functioned as a cafe/restaurant offering cooking demonstrations and showcasing a variety of pumpkin based dishes and desserts.
